BOC-3 Process Service - $40.00

Every trucking firm whose operations require them to cross other state boundaries are required by law to have a current BOC-3 form on file at the office of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

BOC-3 is basically a list of process agents that are registered in their state and who are tapped to represent a trucking company in receiving legal summons and other forms of court papers in the event of any legal action brought against the trucking company.

A current BOC-3 form is also required to secure operating authority and continue active operating status. Also, the form is mandated to be on file when applying for single state registration (RS-3 receipt), exempt carrier registration and private carrier registration.

Process agents, also known as BOC-3 agents, are the ones who deliver summons and other legal court documents from any judicial entity to the trucking company.

Truck brokers are directed to list all process agents in states where they maintain their operations, including brokering for firms and writing contracts. Trucking companies such as freight forwarders and cargo transporters are also required to file BOC-3 agents.

Your Authority Now, a company that provides consultancy services, online trucking authority registrations, and more, offers assistance in the filing of BOC-3 forms and locating appropriate BOC-3 agents.
